First Day at LA Fitness slash First Day with a (Sexy) Personal Trainer

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo...........I went to LA Fitness for the first day of my membership! I'm really feeling it now but that's so good!!! The gorgeous men that worked there showed me around and then I was given the choice of taking advantage of my first day of personal training.

HECK YES!

So this tall, slender, cute guy comes over (blast it! I can't remember his name!) and he worked me hard..........(that's what she said). No, but for real. Oh my word! I literally felt like my muscles were going to start on fire- it was AWESOME!

I was taught that strength training should be worked into your workout regimen so you can build muscle and low body fat. I will be doing strength training every other day and allow each muscle group I use to repair itself over the course of a week. When we strength train we are breaking down the muscles, not rebuilding them. So if we break the muscles down..........we need to rest them and give them time to reshape and heal.

I also learned that strength training needs to be done before cardio. Glucose is released and heightened when we strength train so after our sessions, it is best we utilize that spike in glucose to help burn fat during cardio!

Cardio day tomorrow and I'm going to be ready to kick some HUGE BUTT-----MINE!

I cannot wait.........

to get the hell out of my dorm for SO many reasons:

* my CA (community advisor) is the biggest ass in the world
* I need to be able to cook fresh food
* I want my own room back even though I'll really miss my roommate
* I can walk two feet to work out in our home gym rather than 1/4 mile to the REC
(even though this 1/4 mile was good for me :)
* I'm starting to get annoyed with all the 19 year olds on my floor, 4 years
apart in age sure shows some maturity
* I want to paint my room at home and redecorate!!
* I haven't lived at home for a year and a half
* I'm just ready for a change

Started the 100 Day Challenge Today

Just discovered the 100 Day Challenge by Linda Sprangle. I printed out all of the free material and will compiling a binder. I like the concept and it will be something tangible for me to help myself stay accountable. I am SO ready to have a jump start! I've planned my meals and work outs for the week! Now I just need to stick to the plan!

Under 200 :)

Although this weekend was filled with shots, shots, and more shots, I was able to stay under 200. Celebrating my friend's birthday was just what I needed after this awful week of stress. I sent an e-mail to my employer today. I would've preferred to discuss an increase in pay issue in person but I don't feel very confidence in my words right now. I'm hoping that this week will bring me happiness. I had an amazing weekend and would love for my mood to be positive for the rest of the week :)
